Katherine Trunk

 

   Award winning artist, Katherine Trunk has been a National Art League Member since 2010. Katherine's works span expressive portraiture which emote a visual language to sizzling abstracts infused with goldtone flecks and mixed media. Ms.Trunk places an emphasis on energy and expression in her works in a strong belief that art should make an emotional connect with the viewer.

   Katherine Trunk was the 1st place recipient in the " Women of the World Art - Think Big" exhibit for her painting, "A Single Journey"  in March 2015. This exhibit featured fine art and photography created by women visual Artists in the Nassau County, NY area and was featured at the Nassau County Executive Building.

   Katherine has been an active participant in many of the National Art League's prolific exhibits and has received awards for numerous pieces, including 1st Place in the 2015 Black and White exhibit for her rendering, "Childhood Joy."

   An accomplished illustrator, Katherine Trunk's illustrations have appeared in National Review Magazine which featured her portraits of world leaders and editorial art. Katherine also has created illustrations for The New York Sun, The New York Times, and America Press.

   Unlimited by dimension, Katherine Trunk has created hand painted art on glass, featuring her intricate art & design of animals and nature on glass ornaments.  Katherine's animal & nature theme ornaments have appeared in many venues in the metro area including libraries to a coffee shop!

   Katherine is inspired by her late Granduncle, Herman Trunk, Jr. whose work has appeared in the Whitney Museum of Art's 1st Biennial & as part of their permanent collection in addition to being one of the pioneers in American modern art listed in the Smithsonian Archives of American Art.
