Robert Knepper

I am a landscape artist creating realistic works as well as exploring vistas of nature in the semi-abstract. Whenever I start a new painting my apprehension is at a high level, then during the process in my attempting to capture the progression and power of radiant light, an inspiration as well as a satisfaction takes over as I accomplish my goals of exposing the splendid beauty of nature’s illumination. Although oftentimes I am not knowingly aware of what I am undertaking during the creative process, as the oil nears completion my consciousness alerts to that special soul-touching effect radiant light evokes. Because of this, I am a landscape artist.

My instructors include the ala prima landscape painter Don Huber at the National Art League, and Peter Fiore at School of Visual Arts.  I enjoy having shown pieces at the Art Guild of Port Washington, the National Art League, The Alex Berger Gallery, and BJ Spoke Gallery in Huntington.

My studio is located at The Art Loft, an artist’s co-operative in Port Washington.

While a native Brooklynite, I reside both in Great Neck and Westhampton Beach, but the beach is where I am captured by the transformative power of radiant light.
