Stuart Gleiber

The first time I put a brush into paint I must have been about 8 years old in my mother’s art studio. She had this great studio and she painted every day when I was young. Something must have rubbed off. I began mixing blue and yellow and WOW, it made green. It was magic, but I never truly understood what the real magic was.

I stopped painting about 12 years later and never thought about what I was missing. But, eventually that magic quietly tugged at me and finally, I got my chance to paint again.

Now, more than six decades later I’ve come to recognize that the true magic of painting is in the peace and joy it gives me, and the friends I’ve made along the way, not the colors I put on a canvas. Our class is like a small family and we look forward to getting together every Wednesday. Nothing takes my mind off the travails of life like mixing a little of this and a little of that to get some of that WOW.

If my paintings are on this website, it is not because of my talent, it is because I love to paint. It makes me happy to create to the best of my ability and because of my great, positive, gifted teacher and the devotion of my supportive wife and fellow artists.
