​Class Description

​This class will explore the various ways to paint foliage using calligraphic techniques to create elegant lines with the least amount of effort. Inspiration and scrutiny from many different landscape artists will be included as well as a
weekly demo from the teacher.

About the instructor:

​

​Howard graduated from the School of Visual Arts and C.W. Post graduate school. He has studied with a number of well-known Metropolitan area artists. Howard has taught oil painting at C.W. Post, the Art League of L.I and currently teaches at the National Art League. His articles on teaching techniques have appeared in The Artist‘s and American Artist magazines. Howard has taught workshops at Hudson Valley, Art Barge at the Hamptons and at Martha’s Vineyard.

His work has been in one-man and group exhibitions in galleries in Albertson, East Hampton, Southampton on Long Island. "Composition is first. A few strokes can make a painting if the foundation is strong. Take risks. Painting can be fun."
 

Howard Rose has also been teaching IPhone photography to libraries, art clubs, and Plein are painting groups for over 4 years.
