Paul David Elsen

 

Paul David Elsen went to The High School of Art & Design, studying under the renowned realistic portrait oil painter and illustrator Max Ginsburg, and the late Irwin "Greeny" Greenberg. In this decade he has continued to develop his skills with Howard Rose, Robert Silverman, Dominique Medici, Paul Bachem, and Marc Josloff. 
   Mr. Elsen is an award winning, professional artist, working in the oil painting medium and drawing, and his work has been exhibited at The Heckscher Museum of Art, The Huntington Arts Council Gallery, The Art League of Nassau County, as well as The National Art League.
   Mr. Elsen has a wide ranging knowledge of art, both of creating it and of art history ranging from the Old Masters to illustration. His special affinity is for classical, impressionistic, and contemporary realism, counting John Singer Sargent, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Velazquez among his favorites.
